Market today

3:35 PM - The markets closed with moderate declines today with oil & gas and capital goods being the worst performers. The Sensex closed at 17034 (provisional), down 49 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5118 (provisional), down 14 points. The CNX Midcap index was up 0.05% and the BSE Smallcap index gained 0.2%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 648 against declines of 774 on the NSE.
